We Bet You Won’t Be Able To Eat Just One Of These Oreo Truffles

Sometimes it’s easy to control your inner dessert fiend, but other times, the dessert in question is just so good that it’s practically impossible to stop after one serving. Such is the case with these Oreo truffles, which are so sinfully delicious and yet at the same time, they are incredibly simple to make and use just three ingredients. In no time at all you can whip up a batch of these incredibly delicious treats.

These Truffles Are Seriously Addicting

What You Need

36 Oreos for the truffles, plus more for topping (don’t use Double Stuf)

8 oz. package of cream cheese, softened to room temp

16 oz candy melts or melted chocolate

What To Do

First, line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Put the Oreos in the food processor, cream included, and pulse until a fine crumb is reached. If you don’t have a food processor, you can accomplish this by placing the cookies in a bag and crushing them with a rolling pin or heavy can.

Once a crumb is reached, add the cream cheese and pulse in short bursts and until fully combined. If you’re making this without  a food processor, mix the cream cream in thoroughly until fully incorporated. Make sure there are no lumps of cream cheese in the mix.

Start scooping up 1 tablespoon of the mixture at a time and roll into a ball. Line up the balls on the cookie sheet. When finished rolling up all of the mixture into balls, place the tray in the freezer for about 15 minutes or until they are firm.

In the meantime, crush the Oreos you’ll use for decor and set aside. Melt the candy melts or chocolate, being careful to not burn it.

Remove the balls from the freezer and dip them into the chocolate. Use a spoon to fill in any bare spots and then allow any excess to come off the side. Place the covered truffles back onto the baking tray.

Top the truffles with the crushed Oreos before they start to harden. Let the chocolate set, preferably in the fridge. Keep the finished truffles in an airtight container in the fridge, but we doubt they will last long.

Variations

There are so many ways you can customize these truffles, so it’s really up to you how to flavor and decorate them. A popular variation for the holiday season includes peppermint extract, which can be added to the cream cheese with a mixer before it is added to the Oreo crumbs, and finally you can top the peppermint truffles with crushed candy canes.

You can use white chocolate to cover the truffles, as well as any other chocolate you like. You can also use crushed Biscoff cookies instead of Oreos, which also go very well with a white chocolate coating.
